Privacy
Plain language, because a policy nobody reads protects nobody.
Your images
Files you convert are processed in memory and discarded as soon as the result is sent back to you. They are never written to disk, never written to a database, and never sent to a third party. There is no copy for us to hand over, lose, or be asked for.
Embedded metadata — EXIF, XMP, IPTC, including GPS coordinates — is removed during conversion unless you explicitly ask for it to be kept.
What we record
For each conversion we store the source format, the target format, the input and output byte counts, how long it took, and whether it succeeded. For each page view we store the path, the referring page, and a session identifier your browser generates.
Your IP address is not stored. It is combined with your browser's user-agent string and a salt that rotates daily, and only the resulting short hash is kept. That is enough to count one visitor across a session and not enough to identify anyone or to link a visit today to a visit last week.
Analytics records are deleted automatically after 180 days.
Advertising
minlify is free because it carries advertising. Ad partners may set cookies or read device identifiers to measure and personalise the ads you see. Where consent is legally required, ads do not load until you have given it through the consent banner, and you can change that choice at any time from the same banner.
Ad partners are separate companies with their own privacy policies. We do not pass them your images or anything we record about your conversions.
Accounts
Converting needs no account. If you create one, we store your email address, your name, and a hash of your password — never the password itself.
